Get a refreshing drink of spring water at Horse Camp...

For those who choose to hike up Mt. Shasta, many take the Avalanche Gulch route. About 2 miles from Bunny Flat (the parking lot) you will arrive at Horse Camp.

The property is owned and operated by The Sierra Club Foundation and you will need to contact them for information about obtaining a camping permit, which runs around $5.00 per tent.

For those who don't plan to camp here, it is a good idea to refill your water bottles at the spring. This will be the last time you can get fresh pure water, without having to filter it. If you have to use the restroom, it is also a good idea to take advantage of last outhouse along the trail.
