Northern California Fishing
Northern California fishing is one of the state's best kept secrets. Many people don't know just how much sport fishing goes on around here, but believe me, there is a huge demand for it and people from all over the world come to Northern California to take advantage of the fishing.

The Sacramento river provides a King Salmon run that has long been a source of fisherman's dreams. Because the
Shasta Dam
was built, many of the King Salmon and steelhead trout lost their spawning areas, so the Coleman National Fish Hatchery was built just off of I-5 in Anderson, CA. If you are interested in stopping by and taking a look at the hatchery, you can either follow the signs on the interstate once you get to Anderson, or call ahead to (530) 365-8622. They are open daily from 7:30-4 pm.
If you want to avoid your northern California fishing on the Sacramento river, we recommend fishing in
Shasta Lake.
This lake is a huge lake that will give you a lot of opportunities to either catch a trout or salmon. During the summer, your northern California fishing will be really especially good with a lot of action. Many families decide to rent a houseboat on Shasta lake then float around the lake fishing off the back of their boat. What could be more relaxing than that?
