Sauble Beach, Ontario
Offering the second longest fresh water beach in North America, Sauble beach is sure to become a great Lake Huron family vacation spot. You will find pretty much any activity that you want: from swimming and sunbathing, to boating, hiking, biking, wind-surfing, etc.

Named after the french word "sable" which means sand. This very appropriate name describes a beach that draws similarities to Mediterranean beaches. The water is shallow because of the unique sandbars, making the water warm and perfect for swimming.
Since Sauble Beach faces west, some of the most spectacular sunsets can occur while sitting on the beach. Many families frequent the area in the first weekend of May, so if you want to avoid the crowds, stay away from this weekend. Of course, if you want to be in the crowds and enjoy the sunsets with hosts of other families, then by all means visit during this time!
Over the years, Sauble beach has attracted many people and has become one of Ontario's premier vacation destinations. Some of the many main attractions are the Canadian National Volleyball Championships and the NASCAR races held at the Steelback Sauble Speedway (there you go NASCAR dad!)
